Weekday Bible Study Begins Wednesday, February 24th
destruction, and conquest
Wednesdays @ 10:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. Ethnic cleansing, holy war, Jewish settlements in the occupied territory; all these show up regularly in the news. Bosnia and Rwanda, terrorists who claim their faith calls them to kill, Arab-Israeli peace negotiations; we know it all too well. But these “modern” issues are also in Joshua. What are we to do with biblical texts that seem to authorize ethnic cleansing and holy war? How can different people live together in the Middle East when the Bible promises the land to one people only? And how should Christians, who hear Jesus call us to love our enemies, hear the commands to annihilate the enemy? Join us for a challenging study that may ask you to rethink how you approach the Bible. All are welcome; no cost; bring a Bible and a desire to grow in faith.
